Fall 2024 Flag Football Information
Hello Big 8 Flag Football Parents!
Tryouts for both boys & girls will be held Tuesday, September 3rd and Thursday, September 5th and will take place 3:00-4:00p.m. on the field at your child’s school. Athletes can go directly to the field after class and the coach will meet them there.
What to wear:
Athletes can wear athletic attire to tryouts and practices, no special clothing is necessary. Mouth guards are recommended for tryouts, required for season. No jewelry permitted at tryouts, practice, or games.
How will I know if my child made the team?
Flag Football is a cut sport. Final rosters will be posted on bgcsandiegutioathletics.org on Friday evening after 6:30p.m. the week of tryouts. Once rosters are posted, we automatically bill team members. There are no refunds once the rosters are posted. If for some reason your athlete is no longer interest in football, please email efroelich@bgcsandieguito.org by Thursday to ensure they do not receive a spot on the team and you are not billed.
Remember, there is no fee to tryout. If your student does not make the team, you will not be charged.
What to expect after tryouts:
For those that make the team practices will continue Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 3:00-4:00p.m. for the duration of the season. Games will have a slightly later start time to allow for travel. Once tryouts have concluded and we have confirmed the total number of teams we will post the game schedule. Last year’s schedules are still online for planning purposes only.
